A dedicated Warrior Athlete and our T.A.!!

So, our teaching assistant, Liz, will not be dancing with you this week....why? Well, take a look at this...OMG Ouch! So, what is that from? From her competing to become the Fittest Person on Earth!! This is what she had to do this weekend...
Saturday Workout #1: Three rounds for time of: 15 Deadlifts (females, 153lbs), 21 Kettlebell Swings (female, 24kg), Run 350 Meters. Liz's Time - 15:14, 28th place

Sunday Workout #1: These are the workouts I absolutely LOVE! Long chippers, where it's a total mental game. "I want to give up, lay down, and cry... but I gotta keep going!!"

3 Times up Flying Pull-Up Bars (pull ups at various heights, jumping from one to the other. Think monkey exibit at the zoo!)

10 Handstand Push-ups

50 Box Jumps (24 inches)

30 Goblet Squats (female 24kg)

150 meter Heavy Bag Carry (female, 45lbs)

20 Squat Clean Thrusters (female, 93lbs. from floor to front squat, then pushing above head)

Run 250 Meters

50 Burpees

20 Shoulders-to-Overhead (female, 30lb Dumbbells)

20 Push-ups

Run 250 Meters

50 Squats

50 Pull-ups (chin over the bar)

Liz's time, 1:01:42, 20th Place. This put her in 20th place overall and she will be going to San Diego in May for Regionals to compete to be in the finals of the Crossfit Games! This puts her in the top fittest athletes in the World. Yes, I said "World!" Crossfit Games has their competitons in Asia, Europe, S. America, Australia, Iceland, EVERYWHERE. And, Ms. Elizabeth Cameron is one of the best!

This last workout is the reason her hands are the way they are! So, why are we talking about Crossfit on a Salsa blog. Because Crossfit will make your dancing better, I LOVE Crossfit, and I (Summer) am writing this entry, so what I say goes ;)! And Crossfit + Paleo Diet has dropped 13 lbs off of Adrian, making him a better bachata dancer! and we all know... pull ups, hand stand push ups, and squats make ladies better followers! Seriously, ladies get on those pull up bars and push out those sit ups... it will improve the strength in your connection and make you an overall better dancer! Then come to the Lap Dance class for all the sexy feminine movement!!

Wow, Liz....take some time off and let that injury heal. You have earned it. I was always impressed any time I had the good fortune of watching you lift heavy but...dayum. Girl, you put it all out there. That is intensity. You are a beast! Great work.
